Now YOU can be a Syringe Master!!
Would you be better with syringe work if you could just get the thing to work? Would you like to have many and several shapes and sizes of syringe tips to add variety and styling to your work? Would you like to have a number of syringes with different tips on at the ready any time you like? And how about something to make laying on beautifully even syringe work all the way around a piece without having to stand on your head to do it?? PMC123 has put together a great kit to cover all of those considerations and more. |
 |
|
The syringe kit includes our exclusive 6-pc Syringe Tip Set (blue 24ga round, green 20ga round, grey 18ga round, dk green square, dk green flat [ribbon], dk green half-round). These tips along with the pink 22ga tip that comes with each syringe provide you with extraordinary design possibilities. You might like to extrude an inch of syringe through the square tip. Let the end touch onto a piece and then turn the whole syringe with your other hand. Now you’ll lay down twisted square wire!!
To allow you to have up to three syringes with different tips at the ready any time the kit includes one of our Triple Treat Syringe Savers. It’s a leak-proof, light-weight, plastic container that comes with 2 rubber plugs (for when you only have one or two syringes in use). Put enough water inside to cover the tips of your syringes when inserted into an opening and you’re set! Open the lid and drop in any tips that are still filled with metal clay to prevent them from drying out. These Triple Treat Syringe Savers have traveled by car, post and air without leaking a single drop!
Okay, now you’d like to simply get on with syringe work but weak hands, arthritis, carpel tunnel, etc, has made it so difficult to extrude and control the syringe. PMC123 designed THE tool to make magic happen! The PMC123 Squeeze Ease is like a miniature caulk gun for syringes. Prepare your syringe with whatever tip you’d like, lay it into the small syringe cradle, put the cradle into the Squeeze Ease and GO FOR IT! The trigger handle on this stainless steel tool gives you all the power necessary to extrude even from the smallest tips. It has a release tab to press with your thumb when you approach the end of your “line” that removes the pressure from the plunger. With only the shortest of learning curves you’ll have the power and control to make syringe work an integral part of your design repertoire. And, should you also use paste solder, you just trim 1 ¼” off of the plunger of the solder syringe, and lay it into the Squeeze Ease (without the cradle). Again, the trigger handle gives you the power to extrude through even the finest tip so you can use those tiny little bits of solder.
If you’re like me, you have a certain position that allows me to lay down a perfect “line” of syringe work. If only I didn’t have to stop to change the position of my piece to continue or move about. Now you can simply flick a finger to turn the piece to where YOU want it and continue with the syringe because your piece is setting on the PMC123 Turntable. The 4” X 4” X ¾” size let’s you slip it into any size tool kit. It has grids on both sides, ¼” and 1/8” on one side and centimeters and millimeters on the other. It comes with a flexible rubber pad that acts as protection for the grids while making a non-slip surface on which to set the turntable. You probably will never need it but this turntable will support up to 300 lbs!! This Syringe Kit is a $52.80 value. Syringe not included.

In an effort to bring added value to PMC123 clients and e-newsletter subscribers we offer two virtual classes each month. Currently the classes are in a “Step-by-step” format with text and photo images detailing each step along the way. One class is a fun, easy, relatively straight-forward class that is, I’ve found, appropriate for beginners. This is a completely FREE, downloadable class. The second virtual class typically is a bit more “meaty”, presents a project with a twist, or otherwise offers up a technique that is more advanced. This virtual class is a “Pay Per View”, i.e. there is a fee to download.
Though all of the virtual classes are © by Sherry Fotopoulos, we hope you will use them not only for your own enjoyment but that you might add them to your personal repertoire of classes that you teach. Everyone has a slightly different take on any given project so you are invited to add your tweak and present any of the techniques. Should you wish to copy a download(s) for handouts, we ask only that you include credit where credit is due. This month’s offerings are:

Picture yourself on the breath-taking campus of Mills College (www.mils.edu) over-looking the San Francisco Bay Area from the east side in the rolling Oakland foothills. Typical weather during this “dead of winter” time is high 57°F and low 45°F, known as sweater weather in some locals. You’ve parked, crossed the street and are heading into the CPM Complex (Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics, (http://www.mills.edu/maps/virtual_tour/cpm.php) to join an exclusively small group of nine other people to learn much more about the metal clay you all have in common. The scent of eucalyptus wafts by from century-old trees on this 135-acre campus. Later in the evening you have plans to go to a concert, dine in a fabulous restaurant, catch a national sporting event, or simply walk the campus before dining at a local eatery. You traveled light getting here because all tools, equipment, and supplies are available right in your classroom. Take a good look inside and decide if this is YOU! |

Howdy, Pardner! If you think that visiting a working Texas ranch that also features a world-class spa and salon, Friday-night Fish Fry with live music, an atmosphere that is upscale, but very relaxed sounds like fun, COME ON DOWN! Here’s what they say, “The Old Chisholm Trail ran through the middle of Beaumont Ranch. Even today real cowboys on horseback can be seen herding longhorn cattle outside the ranch’s 1880’s Western Town, Chisholm Fork. Located just 35 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and Dallas, the ranch is just close enough to the city to allow convenience and just far enough to place you where the West begins.” Again, we can promise you NO SNOW with the high of 59°F and the overnight low of 42°F on Valentine’s Day this year. This is the real deal, folks, but with all of the amenities we know we deserve! And classes will be sized (max. 10!) to enjoy and learn. We’re looking forward to hearing from you! |
